Jarrod Loadholt is a partner in Ice Miller’s Public Affairs Group. Jarrod previously served as the head of Credit Karma’s Washington, D.C. office as its first director of legislative and regulatory affairs where he managed the company’s government relations function. In this role, he was responsible for the overall supervision, planning, organization and coordination of the company’s state and federal legislative and regulatory affairs strategy.
John H. Oberle is a partner in Ice Miller's Ohio Government Law Group. John has more than 28 years of experience as a regulatory attorney, public sector advocate and lobbyist to ensure clients' interests are well represented regionally before state governmental agencies, city halls and the Ohio statehouse. He has built a reputation of being a strong and effective advocate for his clients. He is also a member of the Public Affairs and Gaming Group and Energy and Utilities Group.
Kristina Dahmann is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Group. Kristina has broad litigation experience encompassing traditional business and banking disputes, trade secret protection, white collar criminal defense and environmental litigation. She also has provided risk management, compliance, and state and federal regulatory counseling to local banking institutions and businesses. Kristina has specific experience with federal and Ohio administrative and regulatory processes with respect to federal and state-regulated industries and regularly provides counseling to help clients navigate these industries. Kristina also advises clients on property tax matters including assisting clients to identify opportunities to help reduce property tax burdens and to contest a tax valuation.
Samuel H. Porter III serves as senior counsel in Ice Miller’s Public Affairs and Gaming Practices. His extensive background combines public service, government counsel, liquor control and gaming compliance, which allows him to provide multi-dimensional service to his clients. Before joining Ice Miller, Sam was the regional director of compliance for Penn National Gaming, Inc. (“PNGI”) in Columbus. He oversaw all compliance operations for the Ohio Hollywood Casinos, Racinos and Racing to ensure adherence to all federal and state regulatory requirements, PNGI policies and compliance with responsible gaming. Sam also acted as the primary liaison to the Ohio Casino Control Commission, managed a team of seven compliance officers and worked with other PNGI compliance officers across the country to help implement, improve and streamline processes and procedures.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Adam Calisoff is a partner in Ice Miller's Chicago office. His practice involves regularly representing private equity firms and privately-held business in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Adam has counseled buyers and sellers in well over 100 middle-market transactions across a broad spectrum of industries, including automotive, manufacturing, distribution, food and beverage, information technology and health care. Franchising: Adam has counseled franchisors in the establishment and the day-to-day operation of franchise systems, as well as periodic disclosure requirements.

Advise clients on rule changes and law changes impacting industry. Represent a coalition of cannabis companies on changes to state law to advance industry issues. Support client on federal advocacy efforts related to SAFE Banking Act. Advocate for local approvals for clients to be the preferred company in jurisdictions and to obtain all necessary local approvals.
Represent client on fee and tax disputes related to operations. Support client on guidance on federal laws to understand the risks and to structure transactions to ensure best compliance.
Represent several national and regional companies on merger and acquisition issues, real estate acquisition, and local zoning and building permit issues.
